Homey ? Senior Golden Retriever Mix Seeks Quiet Home in Indianapolis
Homey needs a home! This wonderful old Grandpa dog has been a loving companion to his owners for many years. They love him dearly, but, unfortunately for Homey, their home has been taken over by grandchildren.
Homey is hard of hearing and his vision just isn't as good as it used to be. Little kids sneaking up on him, hitting him and pulling his tail make him very nervous, and he has snapped at them. It breaks their hearts to do so, but his owners realize the need to find a safe, quiet home for Homey, where he can have lots of undisturbed naps, enjoy the company of caring adults, and spend some time smelling the daisies in the back yard.
Despite his vision and hearing loss (par for the course when you?re 14 years young!), Homey is a healthy, vibrant older dog with a lot of love to offer. He is a wonderful mix of Golden Retriever and German Shepherd. He is happy to spend time on his own, so would be a fine choice for a working or retired couple or single person.

Homey?s Current Home Environment: He has a large yard to run in with an electric containment wire. He has never been caged. Sleeps on a pillow either in the bedroom or living room.
Homey?s Current Family: We are a couple in our late 50?s with two small grandchildren that visit us several times a week.
Homey?s Favorite Toys, Foods, Activities? Watching squirrels and birds, and other things going on in the yards around him.Playing ball.
Cute Homey Story: All of the service men that come to work on appliances or other things usually end playing with him. He pretty much watches over what they are doing while they are here.
Why is Homey Being Rehomed? The noise and quick movements of our 3 and 1 year old grandchildren seem to agitate him. They have scared him several times from behind by grabbing him or hitting him and he has reacted to them.
Homey?s Perfect Adoptive Home Will Be: I would like to see him go to a place where he can continue to be outside and enjoy the outdoors and be able to provide companionship to someone that treats him really well.
Additional Comments: He has been a wonderful pet for the past 14 years and has provided many hours of enjoyment and fun. I hate to have to place him in another home, but I also do not want to have him get in a bad situation due to his agitation around the grandchildren. He will give someone several more years of enjoyment in a quite, less hectic environment.
